Bithumb, which ranks number one in the world in virtual currency trading volume, launched a new mobile app on October 18 to strengthen its mobile-based virtual currency trading platform as it targets the global market.

The world’s largest virtual currency exchange, Bithumb (CEO Kim, Dae-sik), announced on October 18 that it has launched its official app to enhance its user-centered digital transaction service. This virtual currency trading service is now conveniently available anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day.

As of the 18th, Bithumb’s daily trading volume reached 1.949 trillion won (10:20 a.m. / Coinhills), which is the highest (19.2%) in the world, surpassing Japan’s BitFlyer and Hong Kong’s Bitfinex. Of the nine coins currently listed on Bithumb, Ripple (XRP) accounts for an overwhelming share (48.5%) of the global virtual currency market, which is nearly half of the total trading volume, followed by 46.2% owned by Bitcoin Cash and 37.5% by Ethereum Classic (ETC).

To accelerate its global market penetration, Bithumb has launched an official mobile app along with its English version for the convenience of both domestic and international users. It provides not only the main functions of the existing Bithumb web page, such as trade, recharging, and transfer, but also the life convenience service that allows easy exchange of virtual currencies with QR codes.

The category menu is simplified for easier use, and at the top of the screen, “Bithumb Cash” displays the total amount of assets including cash, Bitcoin, and Ethereum. At the bottom of the screen, the “Receive/Recharge” and “Send/Withdraw” tabs enable quick and easy virtual currency trading that’s freed from the constraints of time.

Its new “QR Code Recognition” function, never seen before on the mobile web, enables smartphones to read the QR code of the Bithumb Cash address (Wallet) automatically and complete the transfer with ease. The “Address Book Sync” function automatically accesses contacts stored on a mobile phone for simple and easy transfer via SMS.

The list of coin information at the bottom of the screen allows users to instantly check currencies which change every minute. The GNB (Global Navigation Bar) at in the upper-right corner displays main user information and provides access to services. It is designed to make user information easy to see at a glance, helping users easily find the services they want. It is currently available in Android-based mobile environments, and the iOS version will be released shortly.

A company official said that, “The newly introduced Bithumb app is focused on providing virtual currency trading services that enable users to have easy and simple access by means such as user-centered UI design and QR recognition function.” He added, “As the No. 1 virtual currency exchange, we will raise the satisfaction of all domestic and international users by further enhancing their convenience in accordance with the changing mobile environments and user patterns.”
